Helping Ukraine - March to May 2025

From March to May 2025, Nordic SOS Ukraine has continued its committed efforts to support civilians and defense forces in Ukraine. Our work during this period has focused on practical aid, transport logistics, and close collaboration with trusted local partners.

A Car for Ukraine

On March 25th, our chairperson and volunteer, Kathrine Jølle Wathne, donated her personal Toyota RAV to Ukraine. The vehicle was handed over to the Norwegian-Ukrainian Solidarity Cooperation Center (NUSSS), which coordinated the safe transport from Norway to Ukraine.

The car quickly entered service and has already made a significant impact in the field. In mid April, it was damaged in a drone attack. Fortunately, all passengers survived—thanks to the sturdy construction of the vehicle. After repairs, the car returned to duty and continues to serve in a region with ongoing conflict.

This delivery was made possible through the joint efforts of Nordic SOS Ukraine, NUSSS, and key individuals like Per Haarr and Kathrine Jølle Wathne, whose collaboration made the donation and transport possible.

Supplies Delivered to Ukraine

During the spring months, Nordic SOS Ukraine also continued its collection and delivery of essential supplies, including clothing, bedding, shoes, and equipment. These items were delivered to Ukrainahjelpen at Klippen, which ensures monthly transportation of humanitarian aid into Ukraine.

To support this operation, Nordic SOS Ukraine contributed financial assistance to cover transport costs, ensuring that the donations reach their destination efficiently and safely.

Moving Forward

The war in Ukraine continues, and the need for support remains constant. Nordic SOS Ukraine will maintain its focus on delivering vehicles and critical supplies in cooperation with our trusted partners.
