Helping Ukraine: Our Efforts Nov 2024 - Feb 2025

05/29/2025

Introduction

In the period November 2024 to February 2025, Nordic SOS Ukraine has continued its work to collect and deliver the necessary equipment to Ukraine. Through donations and financial support, we have helped to help people affected by the ongoing war. This report provides a summary of our activities during the period and shows how our work creates a concrete difference.

Fundraising and donations
The autumn of 2024 has been characterized by increased efforts to collect warm clothes, a measure that is essential during the winter months. Thanks to generous donors, we have been able to deliver large quantities of winter clothing and other necessary equipment to those who need it most.

In December 2024, we paid special attention to Christmas. To spread joy among children in Ukraine, we bought 200 Christmas stockings filled with candy, as well as a number of warm blankets. We want to give children a sense of normality and care, even in a difficult time.
A special thank you goes to Brodd Fotball Stavanger, which in December donated several bags of football jerseys and shoes to children in Ukraine. Sport and play are important for children's development and well-being, and this gift was greatly appreciated.

Transport and financial aid
All collected clothes and equipment have been delivered monthly to Ukrainehjelpen at Klippen, which is responsible for the transport into Ukraine. In addition, Nordic SOS Ukraine has contributed financially to cover part of the transport costs. Ukraine Aid at Klippen carries out monthly collection and transport operations by truck to Ukraine, which involves significant expenses. Our financial support has therefore been instrumental in maintaining this vital supply chain.

Support for the transport of vehicles
Furthermore, Nordic SOS Ukraine has donated NOK 20,000 to Hans Hermansen, a dedicated aid worker who works tirelessly to assist Ukraine. The funds have gone to his important work on the front, where he makes sure to deliver the necessary equipment and support to those who are fighting for the country's freedom.

In February 2025, Hans Hermansen received a sponsored car from the Port of Stavanger – a Nissan Navara 2012 model. The car was picked up in Stavanger and will be transported on to Ukraine, where it will be used by departments on the front line. In addition, Hermansen has collected funds for the purchase of skis, which will be used by the crew on the front. Nordic SOS Ukraine has contributed financially to this initiative.

In order for the car to be used efficiently, new tires are required as well as coverage of transport costs. Hans Hermansen has expressed his gratitude for our support and stated:
"The car is a Nissan Navara 2012 model donated by the Port of Stavanger. I donate it to a department on the front, where it will be used. I go down and hand over the car, skis and other equipment in Kyiv in February, with a public handover in March. In addition, I deliver equipment to an air defense organization at the same time."

Call for further support
Nordic SOS Ukraine would like to thank everyone who has contributed with donations, equipment and financial support. Without their help, our work would not have been possible. We encourage everyone to continue to support Ukraine during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.

The funds we raise going forward will be directly used for this specific cause, so that we can continue to support and help people in Ukraine.

Together we can make a difference!
